The
memorial stands in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Trinity Square, Margate.
It takes the form of a floriated Latin cross surmounting an octagonal
plinth and base. The dedication is written in black lettering on each
face of the base. The Second World War dedication is written on a curving
wall behind the cross. THe memorial was dedicated by the Bishop of Rochester
and unveied by Lord Harris 5 November 1922 and rededicated in 1951.The
names are grouped, there are 428 service personnel from World War 1,
10 names for the Faversham Explosion, 18 names for World War 1 Air Raids,
189 for World War 2 service personnel. 49 names from World War 2 Air
raids and one name for the Falklands conflict. All names within each
conflict have been sorted into alphetical order for ease of reading
and research and may not match the memorial order exactly.
