NEWPORT (SOUTH AFRICA) BOER WAR MEMORIAL

Boer War - Detailed information
Compiled and Copyright © Martin Edwards 2009
addiitonal information ShaunMcGuire - see Newport's War Dead

The memorial is located in the foyer of the Civic Hall. It takes the form of a bronze plaque in an ornate, wooden, frame. The names are listed by the unit served in and then by rank, surname and initials. The names show the unit they originally were with and some show, in square brackets, the units they finished with. Note these names are of those men who served from the town, not necessarily who died. The names here have been sorted into alphabetical order for ease of research and reading.
