Cottages, Felpham, Bognor, Sussex. Prior to enlistment he was a
Farm Servant. Enklisted 7 March 1917 for 12 years, height 5 feet
3¼ inches, chest 32 inches, light brown hair, brown eyes,
fresh complexion. I(n the 1901 census he was aged 2, born Sussex,
son of John and Elizabeth Clerar, resident Felpham, Westhampnett,
