There
are two memorials for Wetheringsett. The first is a Cornish granite
obelisk standing on a stepped base at the southern entrance to the village;
the memorial contains the names of 20 men for World War 1 and 6 for
World War 2. This memorial was unveiled by J B Chevallier 24 July 1921
at 3:30pm, the builders were Messrs. Frewer & Moss; details appeared
in the East Anglian Daily Times 27 July 1921. The second memorial takes
the form of two joined plaques of white marble within All Saints Parish
Church. This memorial contains one more name than the obelisk and lists
21 names for World War 1 and 6 for World War 2. This memorial cost £100
by public subscription and was unveiled by Brigadier-General Brooke-Popham
15 August 1920; the builders were Messrs. Frewer & Moss; details
appeared in the East Anglian Daily Times 17 August 1920.

bomb. That and six other bomb hits kept her out of action until
