The Wetherden war memorial is to be found in St Mary the Virgin Church, Church Street, Wetherden, Suffolk. It takes the form of a nowy-headed board with columns on each side and a table below; in the top centre is a red Latin cross. The inscription and names are on the cnetre piece. There are sixteen names for World War 1, two for World War 2 plus two World War 2 civilians.

[Service records state that The Mons Cross was engraved as Corporal when it should have been Second Lieutenant] Killed in action at the Battle of the Aisne 20 September 1914. Born and resident Wetherden, Suffolk, enlisted Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. Son of Rev. Ferdinand Stanes Ruegg and Alice Ruegg, of Wetherden Rectory, Sowmarket. Atetsted 26 April 1910 at Bury St Edmunds, aged 19 years 10 months, a Clerk by trade, unmarried, height 5 feet 103/8 inches, weight 140 lbs, chest 36 inches, fresh complexion, hazel eyes, dark brown hair, religious denomination Church of England. No known grave. Commemorated on LA FERTE-SOUS-JOUARRE MEMORIAL, Seine-et-Marne, France.
