Believed to be Private G/9845, 8th Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment). Died 08/11/1916. Age 23. Son of the late John Fair Aldred and Laura M Aldred. Buried at Philosophe British Cemetery, Mazingarbe. The Memorial plaque states H Aldred belonging to the Suffolk Regiment, but no trace of a soldier of that name can be found in that Regiment |
