GREAT WRATTING WAR MEMORIAL

World War 1 & 2 - Roll of Honour with detailed information

There are two stone tablets within the parish church at Great Wratting, Suffolk. The first lists the names of those who died in World War 1, created by Messrs.; Rattle & Kett Ltd (Masons), it was dedicated by Canon J R M Vacher and unveiled 18 September 1920; it cost £26 5s. The second commemorates those who fell in World War 2 and was unveiled 17 November 1948.

BARRETT Jonathan James
Pte. 39695. 2nd/5th Bn., King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Enlisted: Bawtry, Yorks. Born Great Wratting. Killed in Action 20th November 1917. Commemorated: Cambrai Memorial, Louveral, Panel 8

BRADFORD William Elijah

ROWLINGSON George
Sgt. 12750. 2nd Bn., Essex Regiment. Enlisted: Chelmsford, Essex. Born Great Wratting, son of William and Ellen Rowlingson; husband of Lizzie Rowlingson of Haverhill, Suffolk. Killed in Action 12th May 1917. Age 25. Commemorated: Arras Memorial, Bay 7
