Denston war memorial can be found on the village green in Denston. It takes the form of a Celtic Cross with a hexagonal shaft and base. It contains 12 names for World War 1. It was initially unveiled in December 1921 and reported in the East Anglian Dialy Times 15th December 1921.

Private 35163, 1st Battalion, Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment). Killed in action 31st July 1917. Born and resident Denston, enlisted Holloway. No known grave. Commemorated on YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 6 and 8.

Enlisted and passed fit 11th November 1915 at Brandon, Canada, aged 19 years 7 months, height 5 feet 11½ inches, girth 42 inches, complexion ruddy, eyes grey, hair dark; religion Presbyterian.
