The
memorial is in the form of a stone cross situated within grounds of
the parish church of St Andrew’s in The Street, Bredfield. The
memorial lists those who laid down their lives during World War 1, with
the names of the World War 2 fallen added at a later date. There is
no mention of casualties from other conflicts (Malaya, Korea, etc).
The World War 1 memorial was both unveiled by Brigadier General S E
Massy-Lloyd and dedicated by Rev L.G. Pollard, Rector of Bredfield 25
July 1920.
Names
are recorded in full on the World War 1 roll of honour; middle name
by initial only for World War 2 casualties. There are no details of
branch of service, or dates of death for either group. Beneath this
dedication are listed the WWII casualties: The WWI fallen are listed
on panels to the left and right.

the dedication “Thy Will Be Done”. He was the son of William Whayman

of May Pulham of Bredfield. There is no entry for Pte Pulham in
SDGW. |

and Georgina Worledge, and the husband of Mary Ann Worledge of 3
