The Beyton war memorials are to be found in All Saints Church, Beyton. The World War 1 memorial is in the form of a red marble with Sicilian white marble embossed in the form of a scroll above which is a Latin cross in a wreath surround flanked by two roses. There are twelve names listed and the memorial was unveiled by Major-General E O Hay and dedicated by The Venerable G Hodges on 22 August 1920. The memorial was built by Hanchets. Details appeared in the Bury Free Press 28 August 1920. The World War 2 memorial takes the form of a two-light stained glass window designed by Morris Meredith Williams. Underneath is a stone plaque containing the dedication and the names iof the six men who gave their lives. It was dedicated by the Bishop of St Edmunsbury and Ipswich 10 October 1948. There are also two hand written scrolls honouring the men who served in these conflicts.

Son of Frederick William and Catherine Ann Austin, of Stone Cottage, The Planch, Thurston, Bury St. Edmund's. Clerk by trade. Enlisted nad passed fit 25 January 1915 at Calgary, Alberta, Canada, aged 20. Height 5 feet 7 inches, girth 35 inches, complexion light, eyes brown, hair dark; religion Church of England. BORLEY	Hector Charles	Private 16937, "A" Company, 2nd Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Killed in action 30 September 1915. Aged30. Born Beyton, enlisted Bury St Edmunds. Son of Charles and Eliza F. Borley, of Bridge Yard, Beyton, Bury St. Edmund'S. No known grave. Commemorated on YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 21.
BRIDGES	Hugh	[Memorial states 3rd Battalion] Private 12908, 10th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Died in United Kingdom 28 December 1914. Aged 35. Born Pakenham, Suffolk, enlisted Beyton. Son of the late Harry Clemence Bridges and Jane Bridges, of Redcastle, Pakenham. Buried in FELIXSTOWE (WALTON) CEMETERY, Suffolk.
GRIMWADE	Frederick C	[Memorial states 3rd Battalion] Private 12916, 7th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Killed in action 28 April 1917. Born Hadleigh, Suffolk, enlisted Beyton. No known grave. Commemorated on ARRAS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Bay 4.
HATTON	Arthur William	Acting Serjeant Major 3312, 1/4th Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment. Killed in action at Gallipoli 22 August 1915. Aged 40. Born Thornton, beds (sic), enlisted London. Husband of Mabel Ellen Hatton, of The Green, Beyton, Bury St. Edmund's. No known grave. Commemorated on HELLES MEMORIAL, Turkey. Panel 154 and 155.
JACKSON	Harry J	Private G/23008, 6th Battalion, Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment). Died of wounds 25 October 1918. Born Thurston, Suffolk, enlisted and resident Bury St Edmunds. Husband of E. Jackson, of Beyton, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. Formerly 5553, Royal Sussex Regiment. Buried in DUISANS BRITISH CEMETERY, ETRUN, Pas de Calais, France. Plot VIII. Row B. Grave 26.
LAST	Harry [James]	Private 12913, 2nd Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Killed in action 9 June 1915. Aged 25. Born and enlisted Beyton. Son of Mrs. M. A. Rowley, of Wickhambrook, Newmarket, Suffolk. Buried in PERTH CEMETERY (CHINA WALL), West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot II. Row A. Grave 22.
LOCK	Percy [William]	Private 40693 [SDGW] or 40613 [CWGC], 11th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Killed in action 19 April 1918. Born Beyton, enlisted Bury St Edmunds. Formerly 19591, Northamptonshire Regiment. Buried in SUFFOLK CEMETERY, LA ROLANDERIE FARM, ERQUINGHEM-LYS, Nord, France. Plot I. Row A. Grave 1.
MELTON	Sidney Montague	Private, Royal Air Force. Aged 23. Death registered as a Civil Registration so he was out of the service when he died. Death registered as Oct-Dec Quarter 1919 at Stow Registration Office, Suffolk (Vol 4A, Page 947). In the 1911 Census he was the son of George & Anna Elizabeth Melton, aged 15, single, assisting his father as a House Painter, born and resident Beyton. His Birth Registration was in the Jan-Mar Quarter 1896 (Vol 4A, Page 810). No further details currently available about his service.
NEWPORT	William James	Private CH/13141, H.M.S. Hawke, Royal Marine Light Infantry. Killed or died as a direct result of enemy action 15 October 1914. Aged 32. Born 11 June 1882 at Barton, Suffolk. Son of Martha Newport, of The Green, Beyton, Bury St. Edmund's, and the late James E. Newport. No known grave. Commemorated on CHATHAM NAVAL MEMORIAL, Kent. Panel 7.
PALLANT	Herbert	Serjeant 7001, 2nd Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers. Killed in action 2 November 1914. Aged 35. Born and enlisted Ipswich. Son of Harry Pallant, of Ipswich; husband of Helen Pallant, of 38, Newton St., Ipswich. Formerly 5218, Suffolk Regiment. No known grave. Commemorated on PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, Hainaut, Belgium. PHILLIPS	Harold	Private 9477, 2nd Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Killed in action 18 June 1917. Born Beyton, enlisted Bury St Edmunds. No known grave. Commemorated on ARRAS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Bay 4.

BROWN, B.E.M.	Robert John	Corporal, Royal Army Service Corps. Awarded the British Empire Medal (B.E.M.). No further information currently available.
FAREBROTHER	Harcourt	Lieutenant 247073, 3rd Battalion, Grenadier Guards. Died 19 June 1944. Aged 20. Son of Lt.-Col. Francis Hughes Farebrother and Edith Violet Farebrother, of Beyton, Suffolk. Buried in ASSISI WAR CEMETERY, Italy. Plot IX. Row B. Grave 10.

GREEN	Albert Edward	Lance Serjeant, 2/7th Battalion, The Queen's Royal Regiment (West Surrey). Died 13 September 1944. Aged 25. Son of Arthur Robert and Edith Kate Green; husband of Joan Green, of Beyton, Suffolk. No known grave. Commemorated on CASSINO MEMORIAl, Italy. Panel 4.
PURKISS	Alfred Raymond	Bombardier 1451093, 5th (The Suffolk Yeomanry) Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery. Died 27 January 1945. Aged 23. Son of Ernest and Lily M. Purkiss, of Beyton, Suffolk. Buried in JONKERBOS WAR CEMETERY, Gelderland, Netherlands. Plot 3. Row F. Grave 8.
