The memorial stands at thr roadside at the junction of Lower Road, Ashley Road and Church Lane, Stoke Albany. It takes the form of a three-stepped octagonal base surmounted by a square sectioned plinth with a platform top; rising from this platform is a square sectioned column and orb, and towards the top are bas-relief carvings including a cross. There are also Inscriptions in relief, on the plinth. There are 8 names for World War 1 and 3 names for World War 2. The memorial is a Grade II listed structure. Erected in 1921, designed by the leading Northamptonshire architect J A Gotch, to commemorate the men of the village who had died whilst fighting during the First World War. It was funded by public subscription. Details for the Second World War were added at a later date. Repairs, funded by the War Memorials Trust, were carried out in 2010. The three names for World War 2 are still to be transcribed.

WATTS	S E	Private. Died 1915. probably Ernest WATTS, Private 11076, 5th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light INfantry. Killed in action 17 October 1915. Born and resident Stoke Albany, enlisted Rugby, Warwickshire.
COPEMAN	Robert George Henry	Second Lieutenant, 9th Battalion, Essex Regiment. Died of wounds 12 January 1916. Aged 21. Son of The Rev. Robert and Adelaide Mary Anne Copeman, of 53, Owlstone Rd., Cambridge. Native of Stoke Albany, Northants. Mathematical Demy. Magdalen College, Oxford. Buried in BETHUNE TOWN CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Plot II. Row M. Grave 4.
FRISBY	Harold S	Private 15966, 6th Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment. Died of wounds 21 February 1917. Born Harringworth, Northants, enlisted Northampton. Buried in LE QUESNOY COMMUNAL CEMETERY, Nord, France. Civilian Plot 1.
DENNISON	Mark	Serjeant 204094, 2nd Battalion, Prince of Wales's Own (West Yorkshire Regiment ). Killed in action 24 [CWGC] or 21 [SDGW] April 1918. Enlisted Northampton. No known grave. Commemorated on POZIERES MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Panel 26 and 27.
WILDEN	G	Private. Died 1918.
WILDEN	John	Private 47637, 12th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Died of wounds 24 March 1918. Born Clophill, Beds, enlisted Kettering. Husband of Alice Caroline Almond (formerly Wilden), of Manor House, Helpringham, Sleaford. Native of Clophill, Ampthill. Beds. Formerly 31313, Bedfordshire Regiment. Buried in BAC-DU-SUD BRITISH CEMETERY, BAILLEULVAL, Pas de Calais, France. Plot I. Row C. Grave 7.
CLARKE	H	Private. Died 1918.
ROBINSON	John Walter Seth	Lance Corporal 28002, 1st Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment. Died 31 May 1919. Aged 25. Son of John George and Mary Elizabeth Robinson, of Wilbarston, Leicestershire. Buried in South-East Corner of STOKE ALBANY (ST. BOTOLPH) CHURCHYARD, Northamptonshire.
1939-1945 The names below are based on educated guesswork and until such time the three names are transcribed we will not know how correct we have been.
PAYNE	George William	Seaman LT/JX 240929, H.M.S. Europa, Royal Naval Patrol Service. Died 9 March 1946. Son of Rose M. Payne, of Stoke Albany. Buried North-West of the Church in STOKE ALBANY (ST. BOTOLPH) CHURCHYARD, Northamptonshire.
NESBITT	Eric Hugh Montgomery	Squadron Leader (Pilot) 43535, 7 Squadron, Royal Air Force. Died 22 November 1943. Aged 26. Son of the Revd. Eric John Williams Nesbitt, M.A., and Dorothy May Nesbitt, of Stoke Albany Rectory, Northamptonshire. Buried in HANOVER WAR CEMETERY, Niedersachsen, Germany. Plot 6. Row A. Grave 8.
