On the north wall inside Laughton Methodist church is a white stone tablet with incised gold lettering commemorating a single World War 2 casualty.

Sapper 2005088, 562 Field Company, 48 Bomb Disposal Sec., Royal Engineers. Born 2.2.1917, Danes Hill, Torworth, Notts, son of Thomas & Sarah Jane (née Portas) White of Laughton. Killed on active service 18 August 1940, age 23, Hampshire. Pre-war occupation machine operator at cement works. Enlisted 5.3.1940. Buried in Grave A 27, Aldershot Military Cemetery, Hants.
