The memorial is located inside the parish church of St Margaret's, Braceby and takes the form of a slate backboard upon which is mounted a white, marble plaque containing the inscription in black lettering; the whole is surrounded by a stone frame. There are 2 names for World War 1 only, no World War 2. names.

CHEAVINS	Frederick	Private 40966. 8th Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment, formerly 46316 North Staffordshire Regiment. Died of wounds 21st October (22nd on memorial) 1917, aged 27 years. Husband of Carrie Ellen Eliza Cheavins of Braceby, Lincs. Son of William and Selina Cheavins, brother of John Cheavins. Born Braceby, Lincs and enlisted Burton on Trent, Staffs. Commemorated GODEWAERSVELDE BRITISH CEMETERY. I.K.7.
CHEAVINS	John	Private 37219. 7th Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 11/1912 Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 12th April 1918, aged 25 years. Son of William and Selina Cheavins, brother of Frederick Cheavins. Born Braceby, enlisted Grantham and resident Lincoln, Lincs. Commemorated POZIERES MEMORIAL. Panel 27 and 28.
