Ordinary Seaman P/JX 296467, H.M.S. Tormentor, Royal Navy. Died at Dieppe 19 August 1942. Aged 18. Born 14 January 1924 in Andover, Hampshire. Son of Barbara Elizabeth Fowler, of Andover, Hampshire. In the 1939 Register he was born 14 January 1924, at school, resident 3 Burnaby Road, Bedford, Bedford M.B., Bedfordshire. Buried in BEDFORD CEMETERY, Bedfordshire. Section M. Grave 31. FOWLER.—On 19 August 1942, by enemy action at sea, James Spencer Fowler, aged 18 years, son of the late James and Mrs. B. Fowler, of Andover, and grandson of the late Sergt. J. Fowler and Mrs. Fowler, of The Bungalow, Park Road North, Bedford.
