The Castle Camps
memorial stands on the corner of Bartlow Road and High Street. It takes
the form of a market cross mounted on a square plinth with a single-stepped
base. There are 27 names listed for World War 1 and 3 for World War
2. The architect was Mr Thomas Dinham Atkinson. There is also a Portland
stone tablet within All Saints Church, Castle Camps, on the wall opposite
the main door listing those for Wordl War 1 and World War 2. See also

enlisted in the Buffs in June 1915; served with the Expeditionary
Force in France from 6th March 1916, and was killed in action at
the Battle of Arras 9th April 1917. Buried to the west of Arras.
